We are very proud to announce that our Phenomenal Non-Executive Chairman, Mark Philpott, was honoured at the Contract Catering Awards for his contribution to the Industry.
The Lifetime Achievement Award identifies one person each year for their outstanding contribution and influence on our sector and the industry throughout their career. The judges said Mark’s crystal ball vision of the future of hospitality, his desire to help, develop, and nurture all those around him, and his significant business achievements made this a popular decision for this year's award.
Mark’s career was highlighted, with special mentions of his pioneering approach, including being the first person to introduce high-street brands, such as Starbucks, into the workplace environment and his continued support of multiple charities throughout his many years as a senior leader.
In his speech, Mark acknowledged that his values never wavered through the many years of leading premium brands within the hospitality industry. His focus was always on people and standards, and his forward-thinking outlook embraced and motivated their creativity. Mark candidly expressed his passion for the industry and how wonderful it was for those willing to work hard to reap success. He underlined its resilience and reinforced his adoration for all those who continue to work hard and make a difference every day they go to work.
Before his time with Savore, Mark worked for and led one of the most prestigious brands in the market before deciding to start his business with his best friend, Clive Hetherington. They quickly became recognised as the benchmark for Boutique Contract Caterers and saw their company grow yearly until its acquisition in 2020.
